When parishioners can no longer come to the House of the Lord, we are privileged to bring the Lord in Holy Communion to them. Most of our homebound parishioners are elderly and can only occasionally come to church or not at all. Their faith and the community at Blessed Sacrament are an integral part of who they are. We, therefore, have an active ministry to the homebound to bring them the Sacrament, visit with them, and pray with them. A small team of volunteers and Maria, the Pastoral Assistant, visit parishioners in their homes or assisted living facilities. All our volunteers have completed the Diocese of Madison Safe Environment program, are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and have receive additional training for this beautiful ministry. The frequency of visits is determined by the person being visited.
If you have a family member or know of a parish member who is unable to attend Mass and would like to receive Holy Communion,
please contact Maria Habib at [email protected] or (608) 238-3471 ex 119
In case you need to be hospitalized, please have the admitting staff made aware of your connection to Blessed Sacrament.
In-home care supports those in need of help while allowing them to thrive in their own environments. Catholic Charities has two programs that provide in-home care, the Care Team Ministry and CompanionCare.
