First off, congratulations on your engagement! We rejoice with you in your decision to enter into the beautiful Sacrament of Matrimony within the Catholic Church. By your commitment to one another in that first "yes" of the proposal, you have just embarked on a lifelong journey together, and all of us at Blessed Sacrament are committed to helping you throughout your preparation.
As you begin to plan your wedding day, we would like to share our hopes for all couples that desire to be married at Blessed Sacrament. If you live within the Diocese of Madison, we ask that you be an active and faithful member of our parish, thus demonstrating your desire to participate fully in the life of the Church. In the same way that we listen to the Word of God and receive the Precious Body of Christ communally each Sunday, so do we celebrate the sacraments together. For any couples who will be using Madison as the location for a "destination wedding," we welcome you to our parish. Our pastor will work closely with the pastor of your home parish in the process of your formation.
We have great respect for the Sacrament of Matrimony and desire to protect its sanctity. Throughout your formation leading up to the wedding liturgy, we expect that you will gain a more profound understanding of this ancient and life-giving covenant. Before officially scheduling any wedding ceremonies at our parish, our pastor will meet with both of you to discuss your plans and address any of your questions.
To begin the process of scheduling your wedding at Blessed Sacrament Parish, please contact the Rocio Munoz in the parish office. May God bless the two of you as you prepare to become one in the Lord!
