As Catholics, we recognize and submit to the teaching authority that Christ has given us through His Church.
To help us grow in our understanding of our Catholic Faith, the Church has put together a number of teaching documents over her* 2,000-year history to help in addressing the questions of the Faithful with answers grounded in the Catholic Faith.
These documents are known as The Catechism.

Answer: The Church is referred to in feminine terms in relationship to two key things:
