At Blessed Sacrament, we recognize the importance of helping families grow closer to Jesus through their understanding of the Catholic Faith. It's not simply a matter of connecting with the parents or the children, but connecting with both parents and children together. As parents and catechists, our relationship with Christ has a direct impact on the relationship our children have with him. CGS comes out of the Montessori style of education and engages students and families through hands-on works, reflection, and discussion to encourage personal encounters with God through the Person of Jesus Christ.
CGS takes place on Wednesdays during the school year from 3:30-5:00 PM in our atria (located on the lower level of the school). Enter through the main school entrance and go down the stairs to the left.To receive the sacraments is to receive God's very life - His grace into our being. When we sin, we can receive his grace through his healing love and mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Our Lord makes himself present in the Holy Eucharist - Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity - and when we receive him, he imparts his grace to us. It is for this reason, reconciliation and communion are talked about in this particular grouping. These are the sacraments that we receive repeatedly throughout our lives as a conduit for his grace in us. Our First Reconciliation and Communion program works with children and parents to help them grow in their walk with Christ to receive his grace.
