Friendship, community building, and support for persons with disabilities in our parish!
We help each other use our gifts and fulfill our desires to participate in Mass as servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, gift bearers, or singing or playing an instrument in a choir. Two of our members have volunteered to help the children in our parish; one is a catechist and the other has painted pictures for the Good Shepherd Atrium, a room that contains materials that help the children grow closer to God.
We also have a lot of fun at parish activities. Our group of people, with and without disabilities, meets frequently to plan monthly events and volunteer opportunities. Many of our activities begin with Mass, spontaneous prayer, praying the Rosary, or faith sharing.
This past year we enjoyed meals, dancing, and socializing at the school fundraisers -- the Spaghetti Dinner and the Barn Dance/BBQ – and at the parish Oktoberfest. We made Advent wreaths at a parish activity and attended coffee and doughnuts after some of the 11:00 AM Masses. Several of our members enjoyed a pizza and movie night with a parish family and hung out with the Young Adult group when they played volleyball, basketball, and summer sports events. We held a bake sale after three of the Masses to benefit the Carbone Cancer Center because two of our members had relatives who died of cancer.
Our annual events include two trips sponsored by the Diocesan Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities – one to Wisconsin Dells to see the Tommy Bartlett Water Show in August, and the other to Monroe for an Advent/Christmas Celebration in December.

Because of COVID-19 precautions, we were not able to host our annual bake sale to help support local pro-life charities.
Instead, we took the opportunity to spread the love of Christ through spreading kindness. Here we have featured a digital copy of our 2020 Kindness Campaign booklet - featuring some of our favorite kindness quotes. We pray that this will hopefully remind others of ways to be kind.
For ways that you can get involved in helping defend the sanctity of life at every stage, please contact our Parish Center Office for more information. Thank you for your support!
