IT’S TRUE!! THE TEEN MASS AT BSP IS WAY COOL! - What do you get when you combine teens, parishioners, the redhead priest, and a contemporary choir? The most rad mass in Madison, of course! The next teen mass is scheduled for Sunday, March  21st at 5:00 PM. Don’t forget to stay for dinner following mass.

Soup & Substance - You are invited to share a simple meal of soup and bread, and to reflect as parish members share stories of living out their commitments – in light of the Gospel. Come once, or come each week - for one short hour, from 6 – 7 PM, in the Friary, on five Wednesdays during Lent, February 24 through March 24.  We start with a blessing prayer, eat together, listen to short personal experiences of fellow parishioners on how our parish Lenten theme – commitment – touches their lives, share a little table conversation, and close with a prayer. It’s only an hour each week – join in as often as you can.

Human Concerns Talk on Homelessness - For many years Blessed Sacrament has been committed to helping “The Road Home” organization (formerly know as Interfaith Hospitality Network) in a variety of ways. The Road Home provides temporary and more permanent shelter as well as a variety of other social services to families experiencing homelessness. On Sunday night, March 14th, at 7:00 PM, come to the Assembly Hall  to hear more about the causes of homelessness and what we can do about it. Staff from the Road Home will speak to us about: “The Road Home: From Homelessness to New Beginnings.”

Lenten Book Club - Our Lenten Book club selection is entitled The Gift of Peace by: Cardinal Joseph Bernardin. The late Cardinal of Chicago completed this book during the last few months of his life. He writes about his personal struggles during his final three years when Bernardin accepted his own imminent death from pancreatic cancer as a true lesson of the cross.  A very moving last testament, written with simplicity and deep wisdom. We will be discussing the book on Sunday, March 21st at 7:00 PM in the Assembly Hall. If you have any questions please contact Amy Kothe at 301-9878.

Operation Rice Bowl - Our traditional parish-wide opportunity for Lenten almsgiving takes on special significance in light of the tragedies in Haiti, and the efforts of Catholic Relief Services to provide a compassionate response there. You are invited to take home a Rice Bowl, located at the back of church (or distributed through school and religious education) the weekend before Ash Wednesday until as long as supply lasts. Put together one of these small paper “banks” and drop in what you can afford throughout the penitential season. The Rice Bowls will be collected during Holy Week, and the contents will be sent to CRS. No matter how many dollars we remember to put into “the bowl” through the season, even our small Lenten contributions, combined with our prayers, have the potential to bring God’s love to the very poor.

Ziploc Toiletry Bags for St. Vincent DePaul & Grace Episcopal Outreach - Ziploc bags containing a list of toiletries will be provided at the back of Church. Purchase six possible items for your bags. Return your purchase(s) no later than Sunday, March 28th to BSP.  Bags will be distributed before Easter to the neediest families in Madison.  For more information, contact Melanie at 238-3471 x-116 or melanie@blsacrament.org.

Emmaus: Connect. Grow. Serve. - A ministry for graduates, young professionals, engaged and very young families, and those who are 18-35yrs old.

Connections? - Join a small group for Lent and discuss the Sunday Readings using Connections booklets. Connections meets weekly. Email Brad  with times that you are available to join a group.

Discipleship Intensive - Willing to commit to weekly attendance, and 20 minutes of daily prayer with Scripture? Fridays from 10-11:30 AM. Contact Brad for more information.
